This was done using a pre-recorded guitar, bass and drums – I played these in myself in real time. The comments were added straight after recording the piano track – while I could remember what was behind some of the improvised lines. Ignore these unless you are a keyboard player! This is the second version I did this time using Grand piano instead of ‘Hammond-ish’ organ that you can check out if you are interested. At a separate midi site home.wanadoo.nl there is another just midi version using the same backing
Before I begin: Please 1) TURN THE VOLUME UP or better yet 2) USE HEADPHONES Hey everyone, this is yet another collection of recordings I made for self evaluation, and I decided to make a video of them and upload it for you all. I’m almost always at school, so I haven’t made any new recordings in a long time. I’m also going to be out of town for the summer which means no piano videos in the future (unless plans change). At the University I go to, there’s a Grand Piano in pretty good condition just a few minute’s walk from my residence, so I play around on it from time to time. I use the sound recording application on my laptop to record my lectures when I go to them. I thought, hey, why not try this out and record my playing? Yeah, so I thought it might be nice to share some of the better recordings. The ultimate goal for this video is to ask two things from all of you, regarding feedback: 1) I was, and still am, generally not too happy with my first recording of Nocturne in Bb Minor. The recording of it shown in this video is how I play it now. I hope everyone enjoys it. And of course..don’t hold back on any feedback you think would be helpful 2) Vote for which audio quality you like more. I think the audio quality with my laptop sound recording is much better, but still not great. The limitation of using my laptop to record is the very low volume. (I made a few recordings of Fighting and One-Winged Angel, but I deleted them because there were static noises from the …

My Version of this nice Standard. The grand piano sound is from Sampletekk. More Informations: Consuelo Velázquez (August 21, 1916January 22, 2005), was a Mexican songwriter. According to her obituary she was 88 years old when she died. Most music resources, however, list her birth date as August 29, 1924 in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, Mexico. Velázquez was the songwriter and lyricist of many Latin standard songs, such as Amar y vivir, Verdad amarga, Franqueza, Que seas feliz, Cachito, Enamorada and, most notably, the enduring 1940s-era standard Bésame mucho, a romantic ballad which was soon recorded by artists around the globe, making it an international hit. Velázquez, who is said to have begun playing the piano at the age of four, started her professional career as a classical music concert pianist, performing at Palacio de Bellas Artes and XEQ Radio, but later became a singer and recording artist. According to Velázquez herself, she was strongly influenced by Spanish composer Enrique Granados. Velázquez also was elected to the Mexican Congress, served as president for SACM (Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico), and was vice-president of CISAC (International Confederation of Authors and Composers Societies). She died of respiratory problems in Mexico City. Velázquez had been in hospital since she suffered a fall in November 2004.
