Will learning to play a marching snare require any natural talent?

Im going into my sophomore year soon and im wanting to play the snare; i think it would be really fun. Im an alto saxophonist atm, and ive got marching down pretty well. If i started getting private lessons and im committed, should i have any problems getting a position by the end of this school year?

i wouldn’t so. all you really need to know is how to read drummer sheet music and how to keep a rhythm. im a flute player and i think you could probably pull it off.
